THE HIDDEN BASE

THE HIDDEN BASE BY Joshmin J.

Once upon a time, there lived a man named Arthur. He was an orphan. He earned money by cleaning people’s house. One day while he was reading the newspaper, he caught his attention on the news headline that said, ‘Marson Robert’s house robbed. Anyone who catches the thief gets a reward of $500,000.’

Marson Robert is one of the richest men in the town. About 2 million dollar and many valuable things including an ancient Chinese pottery which cost 750 thousand dollar were stolen from his house.

Many days later, Arthur was hired to clean a big house. The owner was stout, had a scar across his face and had a weird key hanging on his neck. He had a suspicious look on his face. The owner gave him a chain of keys and told, ‘You can use all the keys except the largest key of them all which leaded to the store room.’ The day when Arthur was about to finish his work, the owner got drunk and had fallen asleep. Arthur thought to check what is special about the storage room. He opened the store room and went inside. It was so dusty in the storeroom. Then Arthur noticed a safe with a keyhole in it. Then he understood that the key which was hanging on the owner’s neck was the key for the safe. Arthur slowly went and took the key and dashed to the safe and opened it. He found a remote with a button on it. When Arthur pressed the button, a stairway appeared below the ground. ‘It’s a hidden base!’ Arthur exclaimed. When he went down the base, he found a table. On it a pile of cash, few gold bars and a pot.

Those were the things which were stolen from Mr. Robert’s house. Then Arthur noticed an envelope and in it there was a ticket for traveling on a cruise ship named diamond princess. Then he closed the base and went back and hanged the key back on the owner’s neck and went to the police and said everything. When they reached the house they saw that the door was closed. Then they went to the sea port and caught the criminal red-handed right in time. Arthur was the man of the day. He was appeared in every newspaper and got the reward of $500,000. Arthur gave all the money to orphanages for children who were like Arthur. Arthur continued his job. Perhaps, new adventurers are waiting for Arthur.

TO BE CONTINUED.
